Strathalan Community

Strathalan Community is an aged care facility situated on the leafy, gently sloping land in Macleod, 14 km from Melbourne's centre.

The Community has been in existence for 60 years and offers a variety of levels of accommodation including independent living units, lodge accommodation and a mix of low and high care beds for 49 residents.

Strathalan is a spacious, light filled building which overlooks the Dandenongs. All the residents’ rooms have either views of the hills or the central courtyard gardens.

Connected to Melaleuca House are two additional wings- Grevillea Wing, an eight bed dementia specific unit and Hibiscus Wing which is a 15 bed low care setting.

The majority of the rooms in the facility are large single rooms with full en-suite bathrooms. There are two double rooms on each floor of the main building, which are offered to married couples if appropriate.

Strathalan Community has a qualified Diversional Therapist to head Baptcare Lifestyle Program for residents. Residents have access to allied health care such as physiotherapy, speech therapy, podiatry, spiritual and social support.

All catering and laundry is completed onsite, with state of the art facilities and an onsite chef, seven days per week.

Strathalan Community is committed to involving residents with the choices that govern their care and actively promotes a continuous improvement philosophy of consultation and participation.
