Baptcare relies on the generosity of its donors.
Without your financial support, we are unable to extend our programs to new areas of need and to more clients seeking assistance. Your contribution is an investment into our community, which means we all benefit from it.
Light the spirit of a person in need this Christmas
What is the first word that comes to mind when you think of Christmas? For many families, the first words they think of are loneliness and guilt. Christmas for some is a time filled with despair and anxiety, knowing that tomorrow will be no better than today.
When Sandra gave birth to her first-born, complications occurred and after an extremely difficult labour, Sandra lost the ability to walk properly and became permanently disabled.
Alex, her newborn son, was diagnosed with developmental delays.
Sandra became depressed and her marriage strained. Neither Sandra nor her husband could come to terms with the huge changes in their lives. After a desperate search for help, Sandra became involved in Baptcare’s Home-Start program that provides in-home support to families with young children.
Baptcare assists over 800 families each year through its family services division, Abercare. With constant shortfall in government funding, we rely on your generosity to continue to give assistance to people who have become dependent on our support through unfortunate events in their lives.
Your generosity will help an aged resident to bloom this Spring
We know that growing older is an unavoidable part of life, and while we hope that we will reach our twilight years with grace, dignity and peace, unfortunately we don’t always have a choice.
Baptcare’s seven residential aged care facilities are full of elderly people with stories to tell. While there are many stories of hope, there are also many of sadness. Many of our 850 residents suffer memory loss, are confined to wheelchairs and experience daily pain - both physical and emotional. At Baptcare we do our very best to provide exceptional care for every individual, maximising choice and independence for residents, but there is only so much we can do with government funding.
It is with the generous support of people like you that we are able to offer hope and a real home to residents. Find out how your generosity can help a lonely individual in a number of important ways.
Families like Debbie’s desperately need your support
Donate to our Learn, Play, Talk appeal
For parents, watching their children struggle with basic communication and retreat from a world they don’t understand is heartbreaking.
There are currently 400 children with autism, learning and/or developmental delays on a central Western metropolitan waiting list for an early childhood intervention service. Many of these families won’t receive any assistance at all - they are waiting up to 18 months for a service, and after a child turns six they are no longer eligible.
Families like Debbie’s experience many difficulties in managing their child’s disabilities including relationship breakdown, financial hardship, grief and loss, and an increase in mental health problems.
To fill the gap in services available to these families, Baptcare developed an early childhood intervention program called ‘Learn, Play, Talk’ specifically for children aged zero to five who are on the waiting list. Find out how you can help.
