Volunteering Opportunities

Baptcare is a diverse organisation and has many different opportunities for volunteering.

Days, times and activities for volunteering are negotiable and Baptcare welcomes all enquiries. If you would like to know more about volunteering at Baptcare, please contact the Volunteer Development Coordinator on 9831 7237 or your nearest site to discuss what you can offer.

Volunteering with families, children and people with a disability

Foster carers, disability carers, drivers, people to care for children in their homes and people to run activities for children are urgently needed in Melbourne’s North and West. Find out more about volunteering with families, children and people with a disability.

Aged care volunteer opportunities

Volunteers are always needed for a range of activities with elderly people in our residential facilities, people who receive care in their own home, and people who attend our programs. Find out more about aged care volunteer opportunities.

Volunteering with asylum seekers

Baptcare has recently established an affordable housing facility for asylum seekers, and volunteers are needed for a range of activities. For more information on volunteering with asylum seekers at ‘Sanctuary’ in Brunswick please call 03 9831 7222 or email volunteering@baptcare.org.au.

Pastoral Volunteers

We are currently exploring ways to offer opportunities for appropriately trained and supported pastoral care volunteers. In residential aged care, we are exploring using Clinical Pastoral Education as the model; while in community aged care, we are trialling a new training package and model developed with the Healthcare Chaplaincy Council of Victoria. Baptcare is able to offer CPE placements in semester one in our aged care facilities, in a unit conducted by the Alfred and Community Centre for CPE.
